Kabwata Baptist Church reaches out to various people in the community and beyond. Some of the ways this done, is through Ministry outreach. We have a number of ministries that play different roles to spread the gospel.
Book Ministry – Publishing & Marketing (Kayula Siame): This ministry publishes books, booklets and tracts that are biblical in teaching and specifically written with the Zambian readership in mind. It also runs the Evergreen Christian Bookstore, which orders and sells books through book-agents right across Zambia. The bookstore itself presently operates on the church premises.
Children’s Ministry (Kevin Kaunda): This ministry reaches children with the gospel of Jesus Christ. It runs about four Sunday School classes on Sunday mornings, about ten Bible Clubs on Saturday mornings right across Lusaka, and the Eagles Nest School (Pre-school and Primary School).
Conferences Ministry (Chola Chakonta): This ministry organises conferences and seminars for Christians to receive teaching on specific subjects of vital importance to the Christian Faith. It annually organises the Reformed Family Conference, the Reformed School of Theology, Heroes of the Faith Day, and Day of Special Studies.
Electronic Media Ministry (Donald Zulu): This ministry is a joint venture with other Reformed Baptist Churches in Zambia. It produces and airs evangelistic programmes on the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) radio. It has plans to one day also produce and air similar programmes on television.
Hope Ministry – Counselling & Visitation (Ruth Mwanza): This ministry is our contribution in the world-wide fight against AIDS. It offers counselling to those who are affected by or infected with AIDS and other diseases. It also sends teams regularly to visit the main hospital in Zambia (the University Teaching Hospital) bearing the gospel and supplies of toiletries to the sick.
Library Ministry: This ministry runs a Christian public library, where people from all walks of life and church denominations have access to Christian books. It also makes available to the public tapes and CDs of the sermons preached in the KBC pulpit, most of which are by Pastor Conrad Mbewe. This library is presently situated on the KBC premises.
Magazine/Publishing Ministry (Pastor Conrad Mbewe): This ministry orders international Reformed magazines at very good discounts and makes them available to Christians around the nation of Zambia. Presently on its circulation list is the Reformation Today magazine, Free Grace Broadcaster magazine and Reformation Zambia magazine. It also publishes booklets and circulates them around Zambia and also maintains the church website.
Marriage Enrichment Ministry (Pastor Conrad Mbewe): This ministry ministers into the much-embattled domestic arena. It organises seminars and offers private biblical counselling to married couples in order to enrich their married lives.
Music Ministry (Mwindula Mbewe): This ministry plays a major role in helping the church in its congregational singing by teaching new songs. It also organises regular Christian music concerts and thus harnesses the music talent in the church for the purpose of sharing the gospel. It also hopes to produce music tapes and CDs for the building up of the church.
Preachers College (Pastor Conrad Mbewe): This ministry is a joint venture with two other Reformed Baptist churches in Lusaka. It is a part-time college, which trains men for church-planting and pastoral ministries.
Women’s Ministry : This ministry reaches out to women in our society according to their needs, whether spiritual or physical. It organises outings and seminars where various issues affecting women are handled from a biblical perspective. It also provides training in income-generating ventures (e.g. tailoring). The aim, ultimately, is to bring every woman to personal faith in Jesus.
Youth Ministry – Junior (Andrew Sinkamba): This ministry reaches out mainly to children between 10 and 15 years old with the gospel of Christ’s saving grace. It organises weekly Saturday activities and an annual youth camp that brings such young people together for teaching and recreation. Here is a safe place for young people to be.
Youth Ministry – Inter-mediate (Chitaku Kumwenda): This ministry reaches out mainly to youths between 15 and 21 years with the gospel of Christ’s saving grace. Youth Ministry – Senior (Kabanda Lunda): This ministry reaches out mainly to post secondary school youths and young adults with the gospel of Christ’s saving grace. It harnesses the potential of such young people for the good of their fellow youths and for the glory of God.
Public Events Ministry (Alfred Sakwiya): This ministry reaches out to the people who attend Zambia’s public events with number one being the Agricultural and Commercial Show. Show goers are given a quick tour around our stand, showing them the various ministries of the church and also given evangelistic literature. Those who would appreciate further contact leave their contact details behind and are followed up across the year.
Campus Outreach Ministry (MacArthur Mudenda): This ministry reaches out to students in Colleges and University through organised preaching events at the institutions of learning. Students are also picked up every Sunday by the students’ Mission bus to go worship together with other saints.
